Driver identification: every trip under the right name

When they get in, drivers sign in with a personal key fob, card or tag, or with the app. From then on, trips and driving times are logged under their name, and you see who drove which vehicle when.

Who it's for
Fleets where several drivers share the same vehicles, such as vans with a different driver every day, or pool cars.
The problem
A tracker knows where a vehicle is, but not who is behind the wheel. When drivers switch vehicles, trips end up under the wrong name and you have to work out afterwards who was driving.
The solution
Drivers sign in when they get in: with a personal key fob or card at a reader in the cab, or by entering the code from the dashboard sticker in the driver app. From then on, trips and driving times are recorded under their name. You see who drove which vehicle when.

Who installs it? We do. We work with a network of top telematics installers, all SCM certified. We install in the Netherlands and Belgium, and in other countries on a project basis.

Five ways to sign in

The best option depends on your vehicles and your drivers. We work that out together with you.

  • BLE tagA small Bluetooth transmitter the driver carries. When they get in, they are recognised automatically.
  • Key fob (iButton)An iButton on the key ring. The driver briefly holds it against the reader in the cab.
  • RFID cardA card the driver briefly holds against the reader in the cab.
  • TagAn RFID tag on the key ring or as a sticker. Works like the card: briefly hold it against the reader.
  • Sticker code in the appThe driver enters the code from the dashboard sticker in the driver app; QR scanning is coming. No card or key fob needed.

What happens next

  • Trips and driving times are logged under the driver's name, even when drivers switch vehicles every day.
  • You see who drove which vehicle when.
  • Buzzer (option): the vehicle beeps until the driver has signed in.
  • Whitelist on the device: only known cards are accepted.
  • A new, unknown card can be added to your driver list automatically. Nobody has to type in codes.
  • Name stickers for the key fob are available.
  • Drivers who forget to sign in can see this in the app.

Your drivers' privacy

As soon as you know who is driving, a vehicle's position is personal data. Role permissions let you decide who may see the map, the trips and the history. More in Your drivers' location data and the GDPR (NL).

Frequently asked questions

How does a driver sign in?

When they get in: with a personal key fob, card or tag at the reader in the cab, with a BLE tag that is recognised automatically, or by entering the code from the dashboard sticker in the driver app.

What if a driver forgets to sign in?

With the buzzer, the vehicle beeps until the driver has signed in; the buzzer is optional. Drivers who forget can also see this in the app.

Can someone sign in with any card?

No. There is a whitelist on the device: only known cards are accepted.

Do I have to enter all card codes myself?

No. A new, unknown card can be added to your driver list automatically. If it isn't linked to a name yet, we link it to the right driver.
