What it solves
The driver card must be downloaded every 28 days, the vehicle unit every 90 days. A missed download is an offence, and the Dutch inspectorate (ILT) issues a fine for each one. We download remotely and on time, warn you before a card expires and show driving and rest times per driver. We keep the files for 5 years; the legal minimum is one year.

What happens automatically

Downloading by hand with a download key takes time and is easy to get wrong. Remotely, it happens automatically and on time.

What the ILT checks

During an inspection, the Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) checks whether you made the downloads on time and whether the data is complete. How often do I have to download a tachograph?

Does my vehicle need a tachograph?

A tachograph is mandatory for goods vehicles over 3,500 kg (including with a trailer) and for passenger vehicles carrying more than 9 people. The free tacho check by number plate tells you straight away, based on data from the Dutch vehicle authority (RDW).

What happens when a driver card expires?

A driver card is valid for five years. With an expired card, a driver may no longer drive. We warn you before a card expires, so no vehicle is unexpectedly taken off the road.

Can I automate the downloads?

Yes. With remote download, the system downloads automatically and on time, warns you about expiring cards and keeps your archive complete.

What does remote tachograph download cost?

Tracking €9.95 plus the Remote tacho add-on at €4.00 per vehicle per month. The tacho tracker is a one-off purchase; if you already have one, you pay the same monthly price.
